Think your using more than 8mm mate... think yours are 9.5/10mm....

Problem is... when you draw... your only drawing half length.... when i shoot your catty.... its a lot more powerful because i pull the bands right back.... past my cheek....

Your bands are too long... but youve never taken it seriously...until now...

10mm...with a set of doubles.... and correct draw length should be ample...

Bigger ammo... if you want.... ...

I dont know mate, i carnt see a 10mm ball bearing downing a rabbit with a shoulder shot, i shot a dove with 9.5mm steel only a mm or two from the heart and still didnt kill it outright, not shot a rabbit yet but wouldnt feel confident with 10mm steel, bigger ammo leaves more of a margin for error i think, smaller ammo should only be reserved for those with good skills, which doesnt include me lol

Your probably right... ive had a rabbit with 9.5mm headshot.... .. but ive also had squirrels off my back fence with 8mm's....

never really used bigger ammo... just toyed about with it... but just ordered some 12mm now....

 ...

Think the major problem with rm's catty is the draw length... which ill sort out.... + bigger ammo...

I use smaller ammo in the garden as i find it more accurate but wont use anything else but 12mm lead now as anything it hits DIES no flaps just stone dead, had a pigeon last sunday with a head shot and the neck was being held on by a flap of skin

But like you said if the bands arnt drawn far enough you might aswell throw the ammo at them, 8 inch is what i find best for me

have a look on the slingshot foruml on the tutorial section on shooting techniques

one method commonly used is to have your anchor point [the place you pull the pouch back to]

at the corner of your mouth and the band length nearly maxed out at this distance..[may need to shorten your bands]

the reason the bearing pings off the to the side is that you are holdinmg the pouch too far over to the side so that it doesn,t catch your face on release which is only natural..

i see you are in west lothian like myself.

are you one of lee,s mates?
