Ideation 8,217
There are going to be a few dogs lame by the end of the week. . . . . . Funny how folk wouldn't run them a few days ago, but now, because it's september folk are out . . . . . it was over 20C yesterday, ground like iron, and stubble like daggers. . . . it just aint worth it! 6 Quote Link to post

R.A.W 1,987
I went out over the weekend had a few runs. managed to bring home 3 . conditions aren't ideal granted but if we wait for it to be perfect we'll never get out. ....................... and just for the record I was running on cow pasture so there was a little give in the ground. I'm not that driven as to run my dogs on ground that dangerously hard. Quote Link to post
THLpatrick 555
Got 3 and had a few good runs Quote Link to post
gibbo1973 187
people should know better than run their dogs in this heat and grounds like bell metal, why oh why do they run them when they know its not runnable, the dogs are not unbreakable you have to treat them with care even one good down pour still wont be enough to run the dogs just wait ill its ideal then your dogs will last all season not just ten mins then weeks on sick bed just thought id have a moan lol 1 Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
I've got a mate who will only run when it's perfect conditions. He won't run if the ground is hard, if its not windy enough, if there's more than 25% moon, if there's no rain, if there's alot of rain, if there is ground frost, if the ground is too wet, if its misty or foggy, if its snowing, if its too warm. We live in England. Next month it could rain all month and it be flooded. Then in November it will be frozen for 3 months If you wait for perfect conditions you will do 3 maybe 4 nights a season I reckon, and then Sod's law says they will hit a tree or fence I guess it's just getting the balance between avoiding bad conditions but still getting the dogs out plenty. 3 Quote Link to post

There's a few places that are ok for a run. There's a few nice sized sandy fields near me was out on them this morning it was fine for the dogs to have a run on.still could do with a nice few nights rain I hate this heat. Quote Link to post
Hot Meat 3,109
There is waiting for perfect conditions and then there is using your nut, running dogs on hard ground is silly. Even more so unfit dogs just starting the season, fook knacking a toe or foot for a couple of early nights running green bunnys, rain will soon be here.... 3 Quote Link to post

Hot Meat 3,109
Lol touchy touchy... my dogs are fit as well but they ain't lamping fit. If your dog's are then your full a white. It's no my fault you feel a Pratt, straight after you were told the grounds too hard you come on with an injured dog lol made you feel a tad stupid did it?? Away an play with your leather or cattys or air rifles or one of you other hundred hobbys you plum, you own a different big dog for everyday of the week they will never see the right side of being fit unless you star trebbling up bunnys lol Quote Link to post
