the big chief 3,099 Posted August 14, 2013 Report Share Posted August 14, 2013 Hi all do rws do a heavier pellet my brothers gun is set at 11.5 but the pellet is too light and is going right through and not stopping the bird right away he is using rws supper domes in 177 so a heavier pellet would do it I recon he has tried a few different pellets in the gun but is very accurate with super domes any help lads would be grate Quote Link to post

boblikesguns 6 Posted August 14, 2013 Report Share Posted August 14, 2013 If your willing to venture away from the domed pellets, RWS do a hollowpoint pellet, they pack more of a punch and expand much more on impact, they might do the trick for you.I'm a firm beliver in the .22 though, .177 just doesn't pack the punch you need for birds/pests. I took 2 rabbits last night using .177, the first at 60 metres and the second at 45 metres! I was using a sub 12 BSA Super 10 that has been tuned by it's designer, but it is still a sub 12 .177!
