kruby01 114
As some of you might have read, I am moving into a static caravan to try and become more self sufficient and reduce these ridiculous utility bills. I want to rely on money less. I have been looking for a while on shotgun security and I have read online quite a lot of people have succeeded in satisfying the feo. I haven't spoken to mine yet as I want to have a clear plan first. The best method I have thought of so far is to lie the cabinet down inside a locker and get a steel plate under the caravan welded to the chassis. Before I weld it I will weld four nuts to the plate and weld it to the chassis so that the nuts are hidden between the caravan floor and the plate. I can then bolt through the safe and into the plate. Do you think that will suffice or does anyone have anther idea? Thanks Billy Quote Link to post
air gun ant 1,666
i think that would take alot of getting of buddy, sound fine to me but im not an feo lol often wondered myself about how to go about getting a cabinet on a narrowboat? Quote Link to post
Westy76 546
Put it under the sofa in the lounge and bolt direct to chassis I was told this was acceptable. If no more nails is acceptable in a home that should be no problem then weld bolts locked under the chassis. Quote Link to post
kruby01 114
I am taking the sofas out to just use normal ones so I was going to put it in the cabinet under the bed. I just thought its very unlikely that there will be two chassis bars ready lined up for the bolts Quote Link to post

kruby01 114
That's the exact place I'm choosing, how did you fix it? I have lived in one for a month three years ago. It was November so it was quite cold but I will have a log burner this time so I'm looking forward to it Quote Link to post
perthshire keeper 1,239
i never had a log burner and had to ration gas lol infact mine was not safe to keep dogs in let alone me it got to minus 12 in their one night with no heating it was that bad i got my two springers into bed and used them for hot water bottles! i can remember haveing the water in the loo frozen every morning for most the day, haveing to shit in the woods and melt snow for water ect proper hard core stuff i just used 6 bits of thread bar drilled thru the holes in the floor put the thread bar thru them bolted 3 lengths of angle iron to them one length to 2 bolts if that makes sence? kruby01 114
Yer that makes sense but just through the wooden floor? I didn't think that would pass? I have three staffies that will be living in it with me and they will be sleeping in the spare room and there will also be an alarm so it will be well protected Quote Link to post
