theshypaddy 1
I bought the SX ones and they work fine, yes they do hold onto a lot of dust in the pipe but a few moments clearing them back into the container job done. Not tried the more expensive Killgerm ones but they get v good reviews in comparison to SX. Quote Link to post

I don't empty mine screw the caps that came with them back in couple of turns of insulation tape For good measure they are primed and ready to go next time Just keep them level when you put them back together easy as that Quote Link to post
Mr Muddy 141
10 ml copper pipe, cheap and easy to bend to shape etc good for up to about three foot. As for something bigger and extendable diy a old telescopic fishing rod, thats effectivley all the wasp wands are? How they charge £100+ I dont know! I was thinking along those lines: 2nd hand roach pole instead of shelling out £250 for an XL8 lance. How are you getting the dust up it? Running a bit of flexi tube up the fat end of it or just gaffer tapeing it on or what? Quote Link to post
shropshire mole 190
Yep the XL8 Lance are bloody expensive for what they don`t cost to manufacture. I have used the good ol fashioned "Dust Stick" over the last 10 years and still find it a great bit of kit. Yes its heavier, will not reach as far, but as yet have not had a nest I cant manage. As others have said a little piece of copper tubing on the end helps with added direction into awkward holes. Hope that helps Quote Link to post
Mr Muddy 141
Thanks Shropshire, I do use a duststick at the moment. I don’t think I could keep control of it if I added any extra sections; that’s why I liked the look of the XL8. but not the price Quote Link to post
theshypaddy 1
I was a huge dustick fan until I used the Waspwand ,brilliant piece of kit and light as a feather ,ideal for use over conservatories etc. The dustick was okay as long as the nest was straight above but was like having a 5lb trout on the end if you were using at an angle . 1 Quote Link to post
