what a weekend thrown 5 bully chicks in the bin this weekend just when things were looking good, lost 2 fledglings to what I think was night fright on Saturday morning then today lost 3 chicks to a bloody mouse scaring the hen off the nest

o the joys of keeping birds............. :sorry::sorry: I shall now go and drown my sorrows and hope I don't lose anymore

Gutting mate and was hoping things were going well for you,well just don't get to pissed and be up early to pull the dead mouse out the trap ;) and the best of luck with the rest of the young un's you have and get up some pics at some point as we love a good pic :thumbs:

FFS, Tong Po! That just reminds me of the first time my boss took me nest finding. He was walking, a few feet in front of me, down a hedge. Suddenly, he said, " Oh, right. This looks a good spot for Chiffchaff ..... Oh! Here we are! ".

 

F**king mice had cleared the nest by the time we passed that way again. I can't begin to express how gutted I was!

 

But, that's the environment. The world. I always point out, to customers, how I can't kill every rodent in " The World ". But, f**k me, if I had an aviary? It'd be a death zone to Any mice that entered.

 

Snappa Boxes. Job done! And none of your birds would ever manage to get near the traps set inside them thgrinning-smiley-003.gif
