hi there looking for someone to tell me what a hardy marquis 8/9 fly reel is worth it has slight scrathes all over and some pitting marks on the back ive also got some hardy line aswell but im not into fly fishing and got these off my grandad so want rid any help cheers

The older Marquis's are still quite common so it won't be worth a lot. It will only be worth the same as others are selling for and depending on condition. Ebay is a decent guide as a lot of people sell older Hardy gear on there. A general guide with the the older Hardy gear is...if there's a lot about then the price will be low...if they're scarce then you'll get a higher price ;-)

Your entitled to your opinion, but you do not know the circumstances that lead him to think about selling the reels. None of us do, so to come out with an opinion like that, is in my eyes the "wrong attitude" and just another wanna-be jumping on the bandwagon.

my grandad is still alive and kicking. Its not as if hes past it on or anything he was just clearing some of his old stuff out gave most of his stuff to the neighbour. When the time comes for such a thing then trust me the things i acquire will be looked after and not sold. The way some of you go on im like some smack-head needing money for a fix. Dont need the money thanks ive just got way too much stuff.
