bigbailey 90
Now i know in some cases eg relationship breakdowns etc..... circumstances sometimes mean working companions have to be given up!! What does boil my piss is stupid reasons for example an advert which read something like Young lurcher for sale jumping, very quick, obient, sad sale due to having a litter from my other bitch so no room for it. If there is no room for a 15 month old dog then why breed a litter from his other lurcher bitch??? I know lots of this sh*t happens but seriously what hope do 90% of pups have of finding decent homes..... Think people have problems with egos and when they find that the dog has not quite made the so called perfect dog they just get rid and start again instead of working with/through the faults!!! foxtails 272
agree mate, iv known a few people to give dogs up that dont make the mark...............instead of working through the faults, most could work through the faults with a bit of work/help it sadens me to say the least, the terrier bitch i have now is 3/4 lakland + 1/4 j russel it marks 100% but her bushing could be better, it takes her a good 15-20 mins to get going properly but iv kept her and worked through these problems, shes getting better as time goes by, i get too close to my dogs/ferrets ect to get rid of them, i treat them like family, most just need a little extra work than others thats all, if then they dont make the mark , atleast find them a kind/loving home ! Rabbiting man 1,192
True dog men & women are getting hard to find, I can't get my head round is when people get a pup they train it enter it, it starts putting game in the bag. So they only to sell it cuz they can't find the work for it. So they go out a buy in another pup of a different x so they can uses it to hunt the same things that they sold the first pup for, work that one out. Quote Link to post

sikastag_1 689
There's the fanny's that get a notion and react on impulse without proper thought to what will happen to the dog after. Then there's the super heros you speak of who want to breed the best lurcher to grace the land without proper thought to the litter like you said getting rid of dogs because no room for pups surely it should have been planned so how the f**k can that situation arise? If I broke up with my misses or had to move or whatever I'd still be able to keep my dogs because I'd find a way if there was ever a chance id not be able to I wouldn't have got the dogs in the first place. Another one is have to get rid of dogs the misses has fell pregnant and won't have any time... Why the f**k not? Iv 2 young kids and I make time. Then there's the lads who run pups or dogs on solid ground through the summer or run dogs on over matching quarry at an early age and if the dog yips or doesn't have a good catch rate they get rid of them, iv a litter of pups just now and any that leave here will be going on the understanding if anything happens this is where they come back to.
