Working Home Wanted For Pet Bedlington X Whippet

Recommended Posts

all the best getting him rehomed, but the way he is carrying that tail on the video, I would have my doubts he is a beddy X whippet, ive seen a few of this cross in my day, but not with that tail.

But still would be a useful bushing terrier.

Interesting about the tail. Still , maybe there's something else in there.

Although I won't let him off here because of the road/ neighbour's, when he has gotten out, he has not bolted further than a hundred or so yards and never minds being collected. If there is something to chase though, I would put money on him running it down until caught or exhaustion. He is incredibly movement orientated and is a sprinter. His recall is good for the right reward and he isn't that fussed over grabbing dead things. If they move, he's all there.

Fact is, he can't stay here. We have been trying to work it out around going to work and we have realised that we can't give him what he needs which is to run and kill and be a terrier. We thought he could be a pet because he is so good the rest of the time but it's not enough for him.

Tbh I think you are doing the right thing mate.

I see people all the time walking dogs that are kept on a lead like that and can't think of a worse life for a dog with a bit of go in it. I could walk my lurcher miles on the lead and he wouldn't be tired, just bored, and my sons terrier which is similar to yours would still be hyper after walking all day. It's not just the exercise, running free, mooching about, and sniffing everything keeps a dogs brain exercised too.

The dog doesn't seem to have a manic prey drive from the video, so I would think a lot of non hunting people could take him on as long as they could accept he was just being a dog and doing what comes naturally to 99% of dogs, he'd probably make a great companion for a kid to mooch about with.

One final suggestion, if you walk your dogs on farms like that with prey animals everywhere it would be best to get a lapdog type if you get another, because if there are things about most dogs will try and catch them.

All the best with him.

Haven't been on here in a while and haven't been shooting in a while so I'm deciding so sell some gear and focus on other things.
Firstly is my BSA lightning tactical xl in .177 comes with hawke hd 3-9x40 scope, one piece mounts and a LED ray gl2 torch with flip up red filter and buffalo river case.
Only fault with the gun is the front sling swivel is missing.
I also have a mad dog growler jacket in APG size medium
A top gun skeet vest size medium
      British army Dpm smock medium-large
British army issue jungle boots size 11
Large jack pike shooting hold all
British army cam net unsure of size but large enough for a personal hide
I would like to see £130 for the rifle but I'm open to offers for everything together in a bundle
Collection only for the rifle but the other items I can post and take paypal payments
      I'm in Warminster Wiltshire
      Thanks
