baw 4,360
After reading a few of tonights topics it goes to show just how f****d the coursing game really is, its became just a pure and utter bitch fest, slagging this one and that one, what happend to the coursing days of old? Seems abit like the world wide web has f**cked it right up, a think maybe so called coursing men should be putting the time and effort into their dogs instead of sitting on here all night and day getting jelous and slagging off this one and that one, apoligies rant over ...Do you think that years ago everyone was nicey nicey and shook hands and never had a bad word to say like? I'm sure it was just the same but only now you get to hear about it on the net. Wherever theres challenges or money at hand there will be bitchin'.................well if growing up with a Dad into the greyhound world has anything to do with it i'm right.... Dogmen are sensitive souls when it comes to there charges. I've had good mates through wobblers cos I've been out with them and we've both caught the same amount of hares but my dogs caught a poxy rabbit more. Dragging the f****d dog about looking for a rabbit to equal it lol, madness. I've never took myself or my dog too serious, you have good days and bad, shit happens. To some, a bad day is the end of the world and if no one knows about it, its never revealed, why?? It happens. The best fisherman have blank days, so does dogs, every f*****g dog I can fully understand why folk get upset........i'm sure you guys put alot of time, effort and money into getting a dog in shape. Then if it messes up on the day youve every right to be a little cheesed off. What i can never get my head around is the constant arguing and the back and forth lies.....nothing ever seems to be sorted out. In the greyhound world there can be no lies.....if your dog crosses the finish line first then thats a fact, you are the winner....... Must be too many rules and stuff for you lads surely to put doubt in folks minds? Away man, I've been round my fair share of greyhound tracks and grew up in the business. A hell of a lot of back stabbing and jiggery pookery. Many a greyhound has won a race cos the best dogs been stopped. Least with lurchers you know they're running without interference. I dunno how the match boys do things but me, I take the dog out as much as possible, alone and in company. It has good days and bad. f**k all you can do. It's not like a formula 1 car where you've been fine tuning it for said event for me. Match guys must be different and there lies the problem. The fun of the chase has gone for these guys. Aye they enjoy watching there dog catching but the more that rides on a dog to perform, the less fun it is. Quote Link to post

Lol I know what you mean. The rules are simple though, give hare a fair and equal start, usually 20 yards lol and if the dog catches it, its 1 in the bag. The problem arises cos unlike greyhound tracks, it isn't a controlled environment. Hare can bounce off fences, double back into the dog, could be a spent hare like was accused at forley etc etc, million things. Waterloo cup was more controlled and regulated but its hard to do with guys just out for a run on wild undriven hares. Quote Link to post

baw 4,360
Pretty much lab, most points on first to the hare, then go byes etc, think the least points were on the kill but that should be the case on double ups. Many a hare gets bent into the other dogs mouth. I liked the Waterloo cup, even more so now its gone but it never came close to being out yourself. Quote Link to post
