GreyRake 108
I give them a short day out at seven months then wait until eight months and do a bit more. Then hit it as hard as I want nine months and on. Quote Link to post
Stretch177 39
Everybody is different mate, most will say 6 months, but i like to let them be kits, so mine tend to miss a season then i start them the season after, unless i have a big sett that needs a decent amount of ferrets. Obviously if you just have young ferrets i would say 6/7 months should be ok. The most important thing is too take your time and be patient, don't expect them too be bolting rabbits straight away. All the best mate Edited July 3, 2013 by Stretch177 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,578
Get them out in pipes in the garden with collars on ,then the first time at a burrows no so much a shock for them and they wont spend half the time sniffing and scratching at the mouth of a burrow .Then its up to you if you put them down themselves or with a older ferret Quote Link to post
foxtails 272
yep train them with the pipes ect, and crawl through different objects, then take them out with the older ferrets 5-6 months on and let them have do a little set, maybe with a trusted ferret, then see how they get on after a few trips out, by the 8-9 month mark depending on how much your taking them out they should of come on quite well different people do it different ways, but thats how iv done it, atb foxtails Quote Link to post
