There is no such thing as Sea Bass - there never has been and anyone using that term ANYWHERE is merely showing their ignorance.

 

Dicentrarchus labrax is The Bass. You then have Striped bass, stone bass, black bass, large mouth bass, small mouth bass........but the fish that you are on about and that has in the last 20 years become the most persecuted fish in the sea is simply a BASS.

 

Kincardne? In that muddy hole? I wouldn't fish for them there, I would go where the water is a bit clearer! There are bass on the north coast of Scotland - the whole way along, so you will find them in suitable spots around Kincardine too. Bass that is, not sea bass, because there none of those anywhere.
