S2K 10
Hi All, As the title say's I'm a bit of a novice so forgive me If I'm doing anything wrong. I just recently decided to get the old air rifle out and try my hand at hunting. I've had the rifle at least 8 years and only used it a handful of times so I'm a bit rusty. I went out shot at a couple of targets for a few days just to get back into the swing of things. Not best grouping to start with but I got better after a few days. I had a look on YouTube for some helpful info before my first hunt. I found these two channels very helpful HuntersVermin and VerminHuntersTv. Well I had a good couple of days last week. Air rifle being used Webley Xocet .22 , Scope is a Hawke Nite-Eye 4-16 x 50 AD IR Ammo Air Arms Diablo Field Stalking woodies very frustrating, but very delicious - Head shot est 25 yards http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/Brian-1986/media/20130615_194413.jpg.html?sort=3&o=5 http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/Brian-1986/media/20130615_194441.jpg.html?sort=3&o=4 http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/Brian-1986/media/20130615_194426.jpg.html?sort=3&o=3 Magpies shot from a hide in tree cover, green tarpaulin attached with bungee chord. 1st Shot through the heart at 30 yards. 2nd Head shot 25 yards. 3rd Decoyed using first two magpies propped up on sharpened sticks. The 3rd I presume was a lung shot at 35 yards which I was not happy with as the bird flew 10 yards and crashed down dead. I missed a chance for a fourth. The wind was quite strong yesterday would this cause the pellets to dip? The wings and tail feathers of these birds have been given to a friend to make pike flies. The carcasses were thrown beside a fox den with cubs. http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/Brian-1986/media/20130623_190519.jpg.html?sort=3&o=0 http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/Brian-1986/media/20130623_194710.jpg.html?sort=3&o=2 http://s1184.photobucket.com/user/Brian-1986/media/20130623_194732.jpg.html?sort=3&o=1 Cheers Brian Quote Link to post

Because the shot placement is very important to me. I've also purchased some new pellets to try and get a better grouping. I went with JSB Exact and the Bisley Magnum. Quote Link to post

S2K 10
Thank you Skot, It sure does feel great to be back out about with the old rifle. Not done much fishing this season myself. I'll need to get myself a couple brownies maybe a sea trout or two before the end of the season. Quote Link to post
