darbo 4,779
possible the hens have pecked away at the birds feathered feet.just the attraction once chickens start feather pecking especially if there is blood it can be a nightmare. i would seperate him till his legs are healed. check him for scaly leg he may have pulled his own feathers out because of this?look into getting feather pecking spray. a good quality one.scarper anti pecking spray always did the job for me it used to be called ukadex. you can get a small spray of e-bay. wear gloves the smell is terrible and will stay on your hands and clothes . I picked up a bird that's legs were covered in scaly leg......great big lumps of raised scales.......poor buggar. Dipped her legs in surgical spirit and then smothered in Vaseline to suffocate the mites.......surprising how quickly they improved. You can buy the ready made leg spray but the above work for me and Mary is back to her former glory..........As is her son........Jesus........my cockerel...........see what I did there !
