Ireland Cai And Woodcock Association At Shanes Castle

We are delighted to have Countryside Alliance Ireland heavily involved at the Irish Game Fair at Shanes Castle on the 29th & 30th June both as a main exhibitor and a sponsor of two public competitions - the Keith Mathews Dog Training sessions and two new championships for Scouts in Archery and Air Rifle Shooting. CAI and we both see the importance of such outreach and the provision of participative facets to the fair.

As the leading all round country sports organisation in Ireland, CAI will host an array of fellow exhibitors in our marquee, including The British Deer Society (NI Branch), Irish Deer Society, Sunnyland Beagles and Lindsay Carlisle.

 

The Deer Societies bring an extensive range of information for people interested in spotting deer as well as deer hunters, while Lindsay Carlisle can be guaranteed to bring an impressive display of hand crafted walking sticks. The Sunnyland Beagles not only display in the main arena, but provide entertainment for the many children at the fair who are always keen to meet them at first hand (in their pen adjacent to the marquee).

 

CAI will also be sponsoring the prizes for the top lady, gentleman and child handlers each day in the Dog Guru Keith Mathews’ main arena training sessions each day and the new Scouting Championships in Air Rifle and Archery.

 

The CAI team have a wealth of experience and are on hand to provide up to date information on the main issues surrounding country sports as well as promoting the significant benefits of the membership package; including the extensive membership insurance provision all provided at the most competitive rates.

We are also delighted to have the NATONAL WOODCOCK ASSOCIATION OF IRELAND fresh from the success of their European Conference on Woodcock exhibiting at the fair.

 

 

"The National Woodcock Association Of Ireland will attend at Shanes Castle Game Fair over the two days, we are there to offer information on woodcock, the most wonderful game bird and amazing European traveller.

We shall have a display of woodcock for those who would like to see a woodcock up close.

The process of ageing a woodcock by reading its wing feathers will be explained and demonstrated by using many woodcock wings to make it simple to see the age difference.

We shall have for sale our Woodcock prints, this year we hope to have two excellent prints by the Excellent Wildlife Artist John Moore. We shall have also for sale our woodcock Association Badge, this Badge is to celebrate out first ten years of activity.

 

Of course we shall have a raffle on each day for a framed woodcock print and tickets will cost €5/£5 each, great value if you are the winner.
