Terrier Hurt His Back?

Recommended Posts

One of my borders was oxygen deprived at birth and has a touch of brain damage, He's still a lively, game little thing, a real have a go-er, but he's been a bit quiet since last night and a bit unsure on steps etc.

I dunno if he's just worn himself out (we did a good few miles yesterday and he was going full pelt with all the other dogs, or if he's hurt his back. He doesnt seem to know how to stop even when he's knackered.

I'm wondering if the deerhound's ran him over when I've not has my eye on them all. It happened to my bitch last year and she needed the vetm but her tail was all limp and she went an odd shape round the hips. His tails still up, but I think he's struggling to crap a bit. I've given him a tiny piece of a codeine this morning to see if that makes him move himself any better.

anyone any thoughts on what you's think it might be?

to be fair it could be anything from a pulled muscle up to Rhabdomyolysis.

I'll have to consult google over what that last one even is =/

despite his issues he's always been a tough little thing, not used to him having any problems he wasn't born with!

if he is suffering from Rhabdomyolysis you will notice it within 24hrs sore across the back with rapid muscle loss and the urine may well be very dark even red in colour
