GreyRake 108
A four inch piece of wood on the bottom of the wire will stop them throwing shavings every where , but do you wash the blankets weekly ?. Yep, a once weekly wash. Rotate two lots of bedding around... Three if you want to use the bed smelling fleeces to put them off shitting in unwanted places. Quote Link to post

Im going on to duvets for the dogs and i can see me washing them weekly and swapping them round but its going to be done with a big industrial washer drier im no brave enough to try that in the house 1 Quote Link to post
The one 8,577
cross cut shredded paper free from my work and the long shredded stuff for the nests I would like to use the stuff or recycle it , but shavings and shredded paper with the amount i go threw are no use for the garden . The council fell out with me for putting it in the paper recycling bin . So it goes in the landfill bin and there's that much i need to take the house rubbish to the dump . So i just use shavings as after all the hutches are cleaned out theres a black bag full and its into the council bin Quote Link to post
onthehunt 40
I use fleece blankets aswell, not many in this weather though, i put more in or take them out as weather changes. I think you will need to change everything mate, bedding and litter. If you put him a blanket in its bed and put in a cat litter tray in the hutch and you could use paper cat litter stuff in the tray, they usually get the hang of it. Never realy understood realy why people put shavings everywhere, it makes a mess, i use shavings in their trays, and they have a bare concrete flor, slabs, lino in hutch's. Your right there, shavings do make a massive mess! my last shavings bag ran out yesterday and I won't be buying another for my kit so he'll have to make do with hay Quote Link to post
