thorny 100
Looking for some information on what I need to produce to my vet for him to dock tails, of my expected litter of Russells. My vet said he will do the procedure on the pups but was a little shady on what information he needs for proof they are working dogs. I do not have a shotgun liscence, I do have permission to work her on farmers land, I am also a member of N.O.B.S and am a regular on my local shoot with my bitch working in the beating line. Can anyone tell me what I need to take down to him in the next few days so when pups are born all the paperwork is sorted and the pups can be docked with no last minute agro. Look forward to any help Cheers Quote Link to post

Look forward to any help Cheers You'll find all the information about what you SHOULD need at the bottom of this page on the NWTF Website under Certification Requirements NWTF Website But bear in mind that it's up to each individual vet as to whether they'll actually dock, or not, and that some are more restrictive in their requirements than others. My advise would be to look at the certification requirements, check what paperwork you have available (or can readily provide), then ring your vet at the very earliest opportunity to ascertain that he's happy to dock based on what you have. Otherwise there is always the risk that you may be looking around at the 11th hour for a replacement vet and eventually finish up with undocked pups. If you want to discuss it at all I'll PM you my number. Kindest Regards - Barrie 4 Quote Link to post
