thurso jack 3
the solder on my female connector came undone lastnight on my lighfore lamp pack, what is the new part i need to order from deben called so i dont order the wrong thing? i had to cut it up and do a bit of diy in the field to get it working to run a couple of rabbits for the ferrets, bloody hot fingers holding bare wire to metal for 10 mins Quote Link to post
Guest JohnGalway
Do yourself a favour - I know this from experience - forget Debens, over priced expensive crap (apart from the stuff you can only get from them...). Go to your local motor/car shop and buy the male and female ciggie lighter bits. Cut off the deben ones and solder the new ones on. Much better job! Quote Link to post
maty j 6
feck the cigar ends off and wire the lamp up to some proper connectors like these. no solder on these just screws. or if you really want to stick to the cigar type get down maplins and buy one. i picked up female cigar connectoe for under a quid. that was before i got the proper jobs on the go Quote Link to post
highlander 0
I got a new plug for my lamp the other day its a screw on one no solder and looks like it wont brake if I lone my lamp to my mate again as he shut it in the door of his truck. Go to Auto Parts or Charlie Angus TJ they will have one. Regards highlander. Edited August 7, 2007 by highlander Quote Link to post
tod 3
all these cigar sockets and fuses etc are just more things that can go faulty when out lamping.cut the cigar of the lamps cable and attatch a couple of spades. Quote Link to post

Guest JohnGalway
Good looking connectors there Maty j, I tried to get those when I was doing mine but couldn't source them locally. One thing I would say is to make sure you have a proper fuse somewhere along the line, no harm in being safe. Had a backpack go on fire on me once, on my back, not much fun Quote Link to post
tod 3
cant see the point in having connectors on your lamp unless you want to plug it into your cars socket.heres my set up.i tape round the spades to prevent them from coming off, Quote Link to post
inan 841
Magwitch soldered a jack plug on mine ,the light force lamps are good ,but why are their connections such crap? INAN. Quote Link to post

HBG 350
make sure you get ones that only connect one way if your gonna fit one to your charger aswell,i have the three pronged one that does that,no chance of blowing ya charger that way,tod its a damn site easier plugging ya charger in to a connecter than pulling that tape off evey time to charge it then put new on when ya go out Quote Link to post
