Hutch size

I am interested in getting a few ferrets, I have years of experience with other animals and ferrets are a species I have always been interested in. I was looking into getting about 3-4 and was wondering how much space they need to live in. The will have plenty of outside time, but how much hutch space do they require?

Make their accommodation as large as you can .... Mine are in a ferret court (like an aviary) 6' x 6'.

as mike says give them as much room as you can the bigger the space the happier the ferret i have a 6 x 8 shed divided in two down the middle as my hobs wont share but for four ferrets i would say at least two tier with a run and maybe as there your first start with two and read up lots of their care

good luck there re a couple of threads in the ferreting section with lots of pictures of peoples courts and hutches spend some time looking through these for tips on toy space security water bottles etc good luck and enjoy

provided the ferrets get plenty of "outside time" then you dont have to have a massive court mines are kept in gutches wich are 4x2 and a half foot but they get a good run rounf the garden almost every day and they are worked on a regular basis

I'm a ferret newbie as well. And after reading loads of books and reading loads of posts on here, I am right at the bottom of a very steep learning curve!
