I've got the Varmint. I like it because it has a thicker reticle than other scopes I've used. This fact is useful because it not only helps my old eyes but it's much easier to see the mildots and half mildots at night when I'm using my NV.

I was out plinking with it on my HW100 yesterday at out to 60 yards on 10 mag. Some people may find that the mildots cover too much of the target but they didn't seem to stop me getting reasonable groups.

I also find the side parallax wheel invaluable - especially when I've got the NV add on attached. It makes adjusting the focus so much easier.

some prefer mtc some hawke.. me, im undecided lol

both do as goood a job as eachother for a similar price.

what i will say tho is the panorama seems to have a very good field of view.

i was out shooting abd bumped into a fella with a bsa ultra, i had a few shots and asked him how big the scope was he said 50 mm..

it was near enough fully dark like but i could see a hell of a lot more through my 50mm panorama than his, whatever it was. both scopes were on 10x mag, maybe a bit extreme in the dark but a target about 30 yards away was only just visible through his and i could see it a hell of a lot clearer with my panorama.

when i had my mamba lite on my 97kt it was just as good as the panorama (50) i have on at the min. arguably the 40mm panorama would be better if seated closer to the action, for an even flatter trajectory!!

as stealthy just said. i also prefer the very fine ret on my panoramas plus the IR , although not a massive deal, does help when shooting in low light.

the scb ret on my mamba lite is a bit thicker but some people prefer thick lines on their ret.

some say the 'christmas tree' type rets are obstructive, but i disagree.. and they have more aimpoints so better for shooting at different ranges and in wind.

if you just want to shoot at 1 range buy a scope with a good old 30/30 lol
