Matt 160
Don't know if anyone has heard of Hope Bourne 'The Lady of Exmoor', but just in case, this is picture of the view from her home: Taken today; it's 3 or 5 miles from anywhere, possibly the most remote farm on Exmoor and one hell of a place. I'm lucky enough to have a contract to catch moles on this very farm....

She moved to a bungalow in Withypool in '95. Apparently, she slept on the floor in front of the fire. Quite spooky looking at the caravan and her bits and pieces still littered the derelict farmhouse: She rose at 5am each day, wrote for a few hours and then checked the stock and hunted for some meat. She believed in eating at least 1lb of meat each day and lived on a pound a week. Once a week she walked to Withypool post office and collected any mail, sending off her handwritten column to the West Somerset Free Press. Here's a link to her obituary:
Flynn 314
No finer Hunt Supporter i have ever met, Making Her Move to Withy just about Killed her, that last time i spoke with her, she had struggled to get over the bridge, and sat looking at Her beloved Exmoor , the banties were all in the house. Her Books give a true account of the harsh realities.
torchey 1,328
I treated a problem with mice in the bungalow when she was in hospital, not many people like that left sad to say..
