gnipper 6,626
Good stuff nipper..i'm having no luck at the minute.. There's plenty of time yet mate, mine have started early but it will no doubt go tits up for me at some point. If their fit and well fed they'll do the rest especially in aviaries.
Clipper 207
might have to borrow that linnet pal
gnipper 6,626
If you've got something that will start sitting in a week you can have the next round of eggs from the fife he's scuttling at the moment. She's not a very good feeder.
gnipper 6,626
10 out of 10 of the mules hatched and the fife hen he's been working his magic on is sat tight now
fireman 11,100
Well done bud,not had any chicks hatch yet myself but had my first blunder of the year by dropping a greenie egg a few days short of hatching today
Millet 4,497
That's a bit of bad luck Fireman.. .. i would of been pissed of if the egg had just been laid never mind a one due to hatch.. ...let's hope the rest get out ok..
fireman 11,100
Fecking thing about it was i was candling it and i could feel the weight in the egg so i knew it was full and i just didn't fully trust my own judgement and had to mess about with it,another b*****d lesson learnt the hard way and heart breaking to see the chick moving before it died. gnipper 6,626
The fife hen was still a crap mum and let them die the bitch, I've managed to let my linnet cock out too who shot off like an arrow and never looked back. If I got as much shagging as him I'd be knocking on the door to get back in. Luckily he filled 2 more nests before he left.
gnipper 6,626
In the last round he threw 2 white tailed mules and one has a white mark on the back of its head but there's one in this round looks interesting Hopefully it turns out special and doesn't darken to be normal. fireman 11,100
Bad news on the chicks and cock mate, would have thought he may have hung around for a bit to be honest as like you say he was getting plenty.Did the same a few years ago with a goldie cock and learnt to not to forget to shut the shed door ,good luck and all the best with this round mate . Clipper 207
doing better than me on the mule front,,,,,,,, hope i get some goldie mules this year if not going try straight goldfinches in stead
fireman 11,100
Do both mate at the same time mate,if you have room put in a canary hen in with the goldie pair and he'll serve both of them no problem, that's how i breed my goldie and greenie mules and i do ok by it .
