ferret15 0
"Feed ". "Thrive ". "Prefer ". " Cancer and Shortened, healthy lives. " " Millenia Vs. A Few Years ". Consider and discuss? Give a f*ck? im beginning to understand why you've all but given up fella! it's obvious from their posts these folk think alot of their ferrets yet persist in feeding this shite to them regularly wtf! Right this might prove controversial on here as ditch shitter is a well respected fella on here,i too enjoy his posts aswell.................but what gives him the final say as to what is the perfect diet for a healthy long-lived ferret ? is it the fact he has degrees and the like on the subject making him some kind of expert in his field ? or is he just the same as me and others on this site who have kept and worked ferrets for many years now taking the ferrets well- being and health first at all times ? This is not by no means a dig at this individual, more towards the people who hang on his every word and take it as gospel, now i exept that feeding a carnavore the way that it will feed left to it own devices will result in a healthy ferret, but all this nonsence about dry feeding will desroy the ferrets health and cancer ect is unproven and any ferret ive seen fed on dry are fit and healthy as long as its not over-fed and its a good option in the hotter weather with flies and the like, cancelling out a risk of the meat turning bad and leading to some unwell or even dead ferrets.Look what im trying to say is this........everybody to their own tried and tested methods i do not hang on ditches every word i agree with his comments on feeding and i said what i said as i cant be bothered typing out the same stuff ditch has already said a thousand times ! and he puts it in to words better than i could Edited July 28, 2007 by ferret15 Quote Link to post
Malt 379
Two words 'OBLIGATE CARNIVORE' Try this link There is a reason why Ditch is so respected on here, and thats because he deals in FACTS. Edited July 28, 2007 by maltenby Quote Link to post
gaz 284
On hindsight after reading back my post,i admit i might of come over quite a bit aggresive and pompus about ditchy and his groupies for that i apoligies to anybody i offended. But surley its all about opinions and what has worked for people in the past, when it comes to lurchers and ferrets........both ive kept and worked for most of my life ive fed a lot of flesh to both, proberly at least 3/4 of their diet but ive never shunned a quality dried meal as it can be convienent at times when your low on meat ect.Now through these years ive never kept a unhealthy dog or ferret and through these years and never lost one because of cancers and the like,so obviosly im puzzled about why a good dried meal is always attacked on here by certain people as if it was the work of the devil or something ? I admited on a earlier post that feeding just flesh is a good option and your ferrets would be fit and healthy (most of my owns diet ) but through expeirence ive also fed a bit of dry with no ill effect, but the thing is.........does this make me second rate stockman who doesnt care aswell for his animals as say the guy who justs feeds flesh, because this is how its made to sound sometimes when people say their using a dried meal..............each to their own i say. All the best gary Quote Link to post
Malt 379
It would be a very boring world if all of us always came to the same opinion! As you rightly say, each to there own Quote Link to post
