Andrew Beirne 78 Posted March 16, 2013 Report Share Posted March 16, 2013 my ferreting partner has had all his ferrets stolen (all 16 of them) and he wants me to bred from my two as he breed them(both different lines totally unrelated) as the last time he bought kits none of then turned out any good.....my two are both very good workers the gill has had a good few ferreting trips and is a superb bolter the hob has been hunting since September and is also top notch but I am just worried as it is the jills first season should I bred from her any advice would help Quote Link to post
The one 8,592 Posted March 16, 2013 Report Share Posted March 16, 2013 Its up too you mate there your ferrets are you happy they make the grade ?. im no tempted to breed from a jill till she has proved herself for a few seasons , As even with working parents there's no guarantee the kits will be workers , But if your mates wanting all the kits why worry ? Mochastorm 68 Posted March 16, 2013 Report Share Posted March 16, 2013 I can't see the problem, if she's from decent working stock and she's proved herself this season go for it. There will be plenty of unwanted stock bred this season searching for a home, at least you won't have that problem. Your friend clearly wants his bloodlines back, but if you leave it and for any reason lose the jill, you lose the breeding. 1 Quote Link to post
