gibbo1973 187
having had some birds taken (english partridge ,a project of ours )and some sightings of charlie in surrounding area i decided to get the archer out and get it rigged up ,focus probs but got stalker to email me some useful tips THANKYOU , it was a nice south westerly so had to get in correct position ,upon the field i got fox in my nv so i coupled it up to the scope a struggle at 1st with the adrenalin rushing through me i got it on the tele sights, the fox totally unaware of me ,he started to move quickly side ways then some ducks made some noise and the fox came closer n closer by this time the fence post i chose to shoot of must of been the rottenest wobbly post available , i then had no option to stop him so gave a tiny squeak so he paused and stared me out ,this post was nt going to last so i fired straight into him face on but aiming into the chest area and down he went ,i dismounted the archer to find it only to notice he had gone, oh shit i thought so retraced my shot and found him ten yrds to the left so it must of started to jump and kick on finding it a good dog fox heavy in weight but not massive two things 1 is to keep the archer on till proven dead and a big thankyou to stalker Edited March 15, 2013 by gibbo1973 Quote Link to post

Gloop 5
Distances is a pain with nv. But knowing you permissions is a big help. Distances from one side to the other helps. I have got rabbits down to a fine art. At 100 yards I can't miss. Mind you at 40 yards I missed 3 times. Mr foxy is playing hide and seek with me at the moment. What scope are you using? And being an Archer they can be fiddly to set up but once done they are cracking. I like mine. Quote Link to post
gibbo1973 187
im using a4x16x50 mtc taipan on this rifle and same size but in a viper on the on the .17 hmr ive not used it on the .17 yet as the rabbit population is so low its hard to find work even for my deerhoundXgreyhound long dog its a sad state of affairs really in my neck of the woods Quote Link to post
