British Recoiling Championships 24Th March, 2013

Fry they don't come with a walnut stock, the hw stocks are hardwood that get stained to look like walnut or beech effect. You'll need a custom stock from Sheffield custom stocks, they are walnut and lovely to boot!

What about Simon (Pianoman)? has he seen this yet?   Pontefract isnt a million miles away and he is brilliant with a springer and a top bloke too!   Sounds good Si I look forward to seeing your S

Mawders if you and Milo fancy a day out with your rifles then id be happy to drive you both up with me. Im not sure if there will be a separate .22 class this year like last year. If its all 1 class

Ive stuck my name down for it, if nothing else gives me a chance to dust off my 97.   .... better go zero it actually.... 24th isnt far away   Ill shoot with you if you like Si   ATB   Adam

i agree with what you're saying lads. when i shoot the winter leagye, i normally shoot sft cos i like to shoot on 10mag and am not really a fan of ft. in sft they dont do a recoiling class which is utter crap. i still shoot it with my springer which puts me at a disadvantage. i get a proper buzz when i manage to beat the pcp boys on the odd occasion. i still managed to finish 2nd overall this year.

i'll try and persuade them to do a 22 class. thing is. they're trying a different format and are trying to bring all the disciplins together. they're doing a 40 shot course where you shoot whatever disciplin you want, be it ft or hft. it's 1 point for a kill and nothing for a plate.

all profits are going to cancer research. paul james twice recoiling ft champ is having a rough time with cancer at the mo, so we're trying to get something up and in respect for him. he's a true gent.

if there was a 22 recoiling class, there would only be about 3 people shoot it anyway. its gunna be hard enough to try and have a fair balanced course that all disciplins can enjoy. i used to shoot hft i the 22 class myself. it'll still be a great day and it'll be a real shame if you pull out lads. it'd be nice to meet you. i'll see if i can have a word with andy calpin or graham cooper and see if owt can be done. sorry boys.

well there you go learn something new every day. spose that will account for the varnish finish so as to stop wearing off the color.

reading the previous posts lads. i think you might have this comp mixed up with the comp you all did last year. this is the first time we've done anything like this. its a new format.

same as davy says. there's 4 people entered in 22 class. if whoever comes 4th, will be 4th. does that make them the 4th best 22 springer shooter in the country?

if there were 20 or so it would probably be valid. its not a fully blown hft comp, its not a fully blown ft comp or sft for that matter. we're trying.

si. you mentioned it not being worth it to shoot at the level its at. over half of the people entered have only shot pcp's for years and are begging, borrowing and stealing springers so they can shoot. this will be a chance for some of the top lads in the pcp world to be knocked straight off their perch because their technique will be sloppy after shooting a pcp fpr so long. ive watched a few of your vids (most of them actually) and you're an excellent shot. you'd be in with as much chance as anyone with that pro sport of yours. in fact i bet you'd hammer most of the folk there with your 22. theres nowt stopping you using your 22 if thats what you're comfortable with.

sorry if ive p!ssed any of you off. it werent my intention. :victory:

hi Si

the comp we entered last year was a one off one day event.this year they are going back to as it was before.

its going to be held over a period of dates and i think six venues,so much more interesting.and much more competitors whether they are .22 .25 .177

and i think its going to be called the south east springer championship.

i was talking to one of the lads at bisley,so once i find out more details i shall be there

Now that's more like it mate  .

With springers making a good come back over the last year and more lads shooting them it only makes sense to do something like that.

As Gasman says 3 or 4 .22 shooters isnt really a comp. but 6 venues with more lads using .22 will make it a better comp and something worth doing well in.

Maybe the HW97KT or Spectre will get a good run out then after all ;) .

Put me down as well partner.

I'm in the same boat as davy,i dunno which ones I'm gonna be able to do yet due to other commitments (my fekkin diary is already full to bloody june lol).

Also, I'm joining mile oak hft club so I can hopefully car share cos doing the southern hunters on my own has cost me a bloody fortune in petrol-getting to shepreth cost me 70 notes alone, and I simply can't afford to continue like this, unfortunately.

Should defo be able to do a couple though?

thanks davy for the offer of donating to cancer research. i'll get some details and let you know how you can donate.

i'm also interested in some southern boinger action. ive shot at kibworth and they know how to put out a cracking course.

i doubt i'll be able to make them all with the nefta hunters going off, but i'll try and get to whatever i can. will one of you let me know what i need to do to book please? cheers.
