although there is already an answer its called a long-net but im not wanting to catch the rabbits as such.

iv been mooching about lately with the dogs and ferret no nets at all just dropping the jill in a few small sets bolting for the dogs good fun gives the dogs bit of action and if the rabbits get away so be it,he says,

BUT,im wanting to get the dogs even more runs than they getting as lot holes im doing are in small woods right on the edge of fields and catching through these woods is difficult most of the time.

im thinking of making something like a portable screen for next year to steer rabbits toward the field, same way you would set a long-net but using a solid screen between the sticks, kind of like the stuff you see around harrus fencing on building sites or in garden centers sold as screening mesh.

only needing it about 20m ish so not concerned about the weight more concerned if i can get it to work

they might just bounce of it,although that will give the dogs a slight edge :D they might just leap clean over but im hoping to funnel them to the field

is this a mad cap idea or you reckon i might be onto to something cheers

It's not easy to find those long runs bolting for dogs these days , those that do are luck , it's all dependent on the ground but mist rabbits are unlikely to rush across open ground without reason , most will only run to the next warren and safety ,

I thimk its a good idea but would it nit take long time to put up

cant see it taking long to be fair, mesh will already be attached to poles, push them in pull it tight as you go no leaves or twigs etc to snag when you roll it back up,easy in theory i reckon

Too much effort even in four mtr sections your still going to need to carry five of what ever you make , just leave them for breeding stock and you might get them the next time you ferret there
