Hi folks, was looking to get a few chickens for the back garden and wondering about the amount of area they need to live and thrive on, I have a strip of rough overgrown garden behind my kennels about 25' by 5' and was wondering if this would be sufficent and if so how many chickens would it hold, thanks for reading

Make that overgrown part of the garden secure, ie a fence round it, put a shed in for them and they'll love it. Depends on how many you want really, don't go overboard or you'll be inundated with eggs like i was :thumbs:

Aye, well i have four bantams in a chicken shed smaller than that, it's about 1.5ft x 2ft but obviously they're let out in the day. If they have all that overgrown land to roam they'll be loving it mate, and they don't really take that much looking after either.
