Guest little_lloyd
Well i went to check my littler of 9 this morning to find only 4 left. The kits are about 4 and half weeks of age and there eyes have just started to open My only guess is the mothers have ate them for some strange reason??????? Any one have any ideas to why Quote Link to post

ferret15 0
i heard somewhere cant remember where that if the mother feels she is struggling to look after them all they will kill and eat the weaker ones for two reasons one it gives the rest a better chance and two she reabsorbs the goodness from the kit to help nourish her self ?? or maybe something spooked her a cat or dog maybe or even the old she knew there was something wrong with them! Guest little_lloyd
Vet said it could be the smell of the new pup. The hutch is of the ground round the side. They had a snif of each other today but semmed fine. Quote Link to post
