Hi Tom, I have the 550 Lux in .308, had the barrel cut from 24" to 21" and fitted a t8 on it, it's a lovely rifle.ATBBob

i was leaning towards the lux tbh

just the guy in the shop was almost triyng to talk me out of getting a cz and getting a howa or a tikka instead.

I had a CZ550 with a Monte Carlo stock in 6.5x55. Found it very accurate but the only problem was the rather basic bedding system used - a simple metal plate between the bedding block and the stock bed. Floorplate magazines arn't my thing personally either. It got a soaking one day and after drying it out found it rattled around a bit in the stock so had to take the whole thing apart and trim the bedding screw to tighten everything up. I found the two stage safety a bit frustrating but and my own inexperience with it cost me two reasonable bucks. This rifle in a composite stock would be a true workhorse though and a good value, accurtate rifle.
