keith j 1,089 Posted December 7, 2012 Report Share Posted December 7, 2012 Well i ain't ashamed to say if i could i'd hunt the rat a whole lot more than i do,grand sport and to be honest i've seen some terriers more bitten up on a days ratting than by old charlie under the turf,not that the rat is much of a foe but a 100+ rats do leave their marks. totally agree bud ive had my terriers badly bitten up off a days ratting,rat hunting to me is a fantastic sport,fast and furious ,especially when hunted in number,and myself and the dogs love it ,ive done plenty of fox work with my dogs[ post ban] which i also enjoyed ,also love ferreting and bushing with my dogs,but for me ratting comes up trumps.But to say rat hunting is a sport for pups and girlie's,what's all that about ,seems to me that ratting isn't manly enough for some people [digger man ,boby black.]why slate another man;s choice of work they choose fore there dogs,isn't this a hunting forum,next they'l be saying ferreting,bushing,shooting over dogs and lamping is for pups and girls.its all out there to be enjoyed ,happy hunting to you all.
