Country Joe 1,411
Jigsaw, you will never forget the sound, when you enter a ferret and you get that rumble and thump, and the Bunnie hits the net like an express train. 2 Quote Link to post

jigsaw 11,902
have no fear people,i have no intention in packing in ferreting for good, its just that the effort, cost and end of day results do not add up.I havent had a decent bag in months,I had a better than usual result last october............I had 8,lol.I miss it allready but the ferrets were siting in their boxes, geting out for a handle and nothing much else, thats no way for a ferret to live so they went on to a young lad last night, promising me he would use them for what they were bred for,so im happy hes enthusiastic and will have some fun with them.Nets under the bed my locator in the bed side locker,on with the goat hunting, hare hunting, etc etc.that'll keep the kelpie stimulated till the bunnys return, lol. The lamping lads have lost interest too due to lack of quarry,I think the foxes could be in trouble, lol I was a 20+ man most of the time alone, just me and the dog.Its when you have to travel,20-30 plus miles and stick a score of diesel into the van and end up with ferkin 2......4...........8 rabbits, fek that.Too slow for me.Country joe i still love the anticipation of the nets purseing and the thunder below the soil, the last few months I didnt hear much of it. jigsaw 11,902
cant wait to get back but I have to make sure the ferrets have a job to do also,no point having them for the sake of it,same with the dogs I keep, they must have a purpose, and so far I keep them busy. The day I cant, then I have to re assess the situation, but im confident I'll be busy for the next thirty years  Quote Link to post
