New to hunting

Hello, I'm looking at getting into small game hunting and would appreciate some advice if possible. I'm a complete beginner to the sport, although I have ordered a couple of books. I'm thinking of teaching my new puppy to go to ground. I'm going to take him to a local woodland where I have seen rabbits before and see what happens, any advise would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Hello and welcome mate , let your puppy mature before you think of doing anything and you cant just go out to a wood and try him you need permission

Thanks for the advice. He's already housetrained, knows basic commands and I'm currently teaching him recall. He's just turned 4 months old, what age would you class as mature? I am looking into permission at the local park now, if not I can take him to a friends land up in the dales.

I have recently gained permission from a friend and local greenkeeper of a golf course which has a rabbit problem. I am looking to buy my first pneumatic air rifle, I am not looking to spend over £500 for the whole kit. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
