think people take it a bit to serious on here not every one has been at it for years and not everyone has aperfect dog.must admit i laughed a bit when cro first came on with his little dog but i remember some of the dogs we used when first startin out and if hes catching hes a lot better than some of our old dogs.bet he feels just as good when his dog catches as some of the experts on here.i just love watchin the dogs work some are better at it than others but for me its not about how many its being out there with the dog.he only asked for guidance which lines to go for

Mate i still laugh now at what he is, everyone does. It just makes me laugh that people originally having a go telling me to get a proper lurcher then when i ask for advice where to find a decent one theyre trying to rip the piss out of the breed of my dog, get over it lads ffs. And yea when he got his first proper capture on the lamp it was probably the best buzz ive ever had. He got faults that would call a lurcher shit for having, like the odd yap and not retrieving but he does the most important part pretty damn good to be honest, he catches them and hes getting better at it all the time.

I recon if you get a purpose breed lurcher your current dog will be redundant in time..

It would not live with a decent one fella.

You may say you wont favour the new one but when its filling the bag and catching more that the little dog,the worm would turn for me ..

Anything from working lines will give you a higher percentage of getting a grafter that will fill the bag.. I dont love a rough coated lurcher however would consider a Deerhound~greyhound X collie ~ greyhound. My friend had one excellent dog that took everything day and night..

Your happy with your dog thats great, but another lurcher should tick more boxes for you..

I personally recon, once you have another dog scoring well on the lamp, I would just use the wee dog for ferreting and ratching about..

Likely make a good team his he works cover ..

JMHO Good luck with whatever you decide :victory:

ive run out of likes giro but you may well be right. The thing youve got to remember though is im into this purely for the enjoyment of myself and my dog/dogs. they will always be pets and will never get neglected. i love a mouch anyways and the littlun works cover like a terrier so they probably will make a good team. But as for not lamping with the littlun, you may prove to be right but i hope your wrong and i hope the reasons i got into the sport stay the same as they are now. I think id have to consider quitting the game altogether if it got to the stage where my dogs were just tools and no longer pets. Im not slagging off anyone elses reasons for hunting but i, just saying i hope mine stay the same as they are now, for the enjoyment of myself and my dogs!

cheers atb
