It could be the stuff you got from MAFF.Some chemicals that are very good at killing germs, also kill other living things! If I were you the first thing I would do is contact MAFF,and ask them if there might be a problem using it for ferrets.................Good luck.................Martin.

Cramp i am so sorry to read about this sad news :( i am so glad your having a PM done it will at least clarify if its enteritis or not, will you please post up the findings of the PM as i think its important to other ferret keepers to be aware of this type of thing & enlighten them of treatments open to them if it ever happens to anyone else.

I have a friend who has a simmilar problem last year who also had several PM's done on ferrets, fingers crossed you dont loose anymore :)

You said you fed them flesh. It maybe that it had gone off and they were inadvertantly poisoned. Try dried kitten food. Ferrets and cats have the same type of digestive system, and a kits bite is plenty powerful enough to chomp through the biscuits. Plus the fact its cheaper and less hassle to get and equally as good for your ferrets!

gutted for you . do you and your mate live near each other has his ferrets been in contact with yours whose hob did you use to breed them , dont think it can be the food unless you and your mate are using the same meat , have you got anymore ferrets all the best let us know how you get on .
