  1. Sorry to say that there is no beardie blood in those dogs. Border collie, fell collie if you like to call them that is the most recent collie used. Ooty pup is a brother to Bear, red dog was from earlier litter. Not what i was told when i brought mine, came with the papers and the breeding mate, the pup it boarder. Sorley x is right!
  2. As soon as the dog sees the quarry let it go, if there's a choice between a difficult run and an easy run, give it the difficult one. It's then up to the dog to work the quarry. Imo, its all about testing the dog and building on its abilities and stamina not about catch rates, with testing comes improved abilities and then catch rates. You then truely know your dogs capabilities and worth
  3. Little Fathom, I believe was the result of a tully x merab mating Minion if you mean Merab II, she was out of goose x solo, a brindle bitch.

  5. On foot, by myself, with the dog off the lead at heel, because I'm scared of the dark, a crass coward and can't train a dog to walk to heel
  6. It's generally it's an alright read imo, sometimes its a bag of shite, sometimes its bang on. Though what more can they do, as the lurcher ad terrier world hardly changes. It's the best working dog mag about hands down. Steady half hour read regardless, with colour photo's as well!
  7. Just shows how pathetic, baised and pig ignotant the country's police forces are becoming. It's embarassing that in this day and age, with education available to all, such statements are made, especially by the Police of all people! And they wonder why they have no respect.
  8. is it the one that writes in the cw, april the 9th mag is a belter, had a dog that never missed a fox, ffs Don't read CMW regularly, so not seen the article, but if they say they had a dog that never missed a fox, more than likely! you must get the issue its worth every PENNY,duck weed in a running river in mid november when winters were bitter cold, and fox snapping at inches from face , its a must, lmfao, sounds a tailor made article for the cmw. Any chance of scanning it on the net? would love to read it. Nice to see how a proper dog works
  9. so nuttals not a puppy farmer then? .lots of people say he is . IS HE? Valid point, and hear he breeds a good few pups that cost a good few quid. Though if his dogs/ line are so bad, how come they're still going strong after all these years?

  11. I heard an absolute pearler a while ago. A lurcher expert/ author and judge (not mentioning who, male or female), recently and genuinely told my mate that his lurcher carried it's tail wrong for a lurcher! The lurcher authority in question is judging lurchers at one of the main gamefairs this year!
  12. We were looking at some nutall pedigrees the other day comparing the old dogs to the new dogs. On paper the new dogs are bred down from the same lines as the older dogs i.e. no new blood added, just smaller dogs bred from is what we concluded.
