Walk out with RM, the dogs and a couple of ferrets.

went out for a walk today with RM2508 and the dogs. decided to take a couple of ferrets but no nets to see if we could try a little burrow he had seen when out. the weather was good and the sun was shining. i had all 3 of my dogs but RM just brought his younger lurcher.

 

so let the dogs run about for a while and burn some energy while we had a little look about. found a well used burrown under a pilon and put one of the ferrets in. less then 5 second later a rabbit bolted and my young pup was on it straight away. RESULT. and very happy.

 

couple of minutes later another bolted and RM's bitch was on its tail. a nice clean take.

 

so moved on around the field and let the dogs have anothe run about. stumbled across another small burrow and as my other ferret hadnt been out the box i gave him a run through. 10 minutes later he emerged with claws full of fur.

 

boxed him back up and went on our way round the field. seen a few more burrows but thought we best leave them for another day when we were more prepared with the locator, nets, spade etc

 

enjoyed the rest of the walk and let the dogs burn some energy.

 

decent couple of hours out with the dogs and a couple of rabbits for the ferrets.

Always fancied a wee go around there but with it being closeish to the airport reckon it would be on top pretty sharpish!

Went ferreting next to the airport on georges permission and the airport police came and took all details and wasnt happy at all bout the dog- said he wasnt sure if it was legal!!

 

George went ferreting a few years prior to this and the airport police turned up armed!!

 

That was only ferreting!! Feck knows what they would be like with a lamp at night!
