longnets and gatenets

sorry for the naievity lads, but how many of you guys use longnets/gatenets when ferreting? started thinking about them when ive been losing a good few rabbits to hidden bolt holes ect. can anyone tell me what the difference is between a longnet and gatenet? also can anyone recommend someone who sells decent ones worth their value? would be greatful to hear your views.

Gate nets are big poke nets that purse,like a purse net..

 

Longnet are as the name discribes long and come in all sorts of sizes standard sizes 25yrd 50,75 and hundred..

 

Some are made to measure. Smaller ones are know as stop nets..

I've used a longnet for around 8 years and in the right place is unbeatable got mine from Brian Brinded easy to find on the net not the cheapest but great quality. My advice would be to practice on a local field you may look like a wally but better than missing any zig zag through middle then around the outside or like a stop sign on smaller setts
