Saluki/greyhound hiding game ?

Took my saluki/greyhound out earlier to flush and ritrieve in accordance with the law. On ritrieve he ran off with the game and half buried it. Anybody got any ideas why hes doing this ?

saluki in them pal my bitch did it onece last season. went over to her and alls i could see was a long leg sticking out of the ground :laugh: mine was only 10 months old when she did it. is your dog young

Hes about 18 months mate but is still abit immature. There must be a reason for them doing it. I thought he was maybe hiding it from the other dog we had on the lead ?
