ruby16 80
I HAVE BEEN LAMPING FOR MANY YEARS NOW AND HAVE USED LIGHTFORCE LAMPS FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER, I AM CURRENTLY USING THE 240MM BLITZ AND IT IS A VERY GOOD LAMP BUT WHEN THE WIND PICKS UP REALLY STRONG IT SEEMS TO CATCH THE LAMP AND SEND IT ALL OVER THE PLACE DUE TO ITS LARGE DIAMETER AND LETS FACE IT WE LOOK FORWARD TO WINDY NIGHTS, ANYWAY I THOUGHT I WOULD BUY A SECOND SMALLER LAMP TO USE ON GALE FORCE NIGHTS AND JUST FOR AN HOUR LOCAL, I DIDN'T WANT TO SPEND TOO MUCH SO THE STRIKER WAS OUT OF THE MIX, I ENDED UP GETTING A CLUSION CLULITE AS I WAS TOLD THEY WERE PRETTY GOOD, IT ARRIVED ON FRIDAY SO OFF I WENT FRIDAY NIGHT TO TRY IT AND WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT, IT WAS DULL/YELLOWISH/ AND HAD A BIG BLACK SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BEAM, PISSED OFF I RETURNED HOME HAD A LOOK AT IT AND NOTICED THE MAIN BULB WAS A 12V 50W SO I CHANGED THAT FOR A 12V 100W AND WENT OUT AGAIN LAST NIGHT, THE BEAM WAS MUCH BRIGHTER BUT THERE IS STILL A LARGE BLACK SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BEAM,THE BULB HAS A HORIZONTAL ELEMENT IN IT SO I AM GOING TO TRY A VERTICAL ONE TO SEE IF THAT CURES IT, CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO TO GET RID OF THE BLACK SPOT, SENSIBLE REPLIES ONLY PLEASE, NO KEYBOARD FREAKS WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO. SMART DOG 340
The striker and blitz are the same lamp you would of been better off just buying the striker head Quote Link to post
ruby16 80
THE STRIKER HEAD IS NEARLY THE PRICE OF THE WHOLE LAMP. Quote Link to post
lapin2008 1,587
LAZERLITE MATE. Ah right. Have you thought about one of the CREE torches? they only about 20 quid tops and are comparable to the smaller lamps for beam etc Quote Link to post
Gaz_1989 9,539
You should of got the Cluson clu-Briter mate. This and a blitz 240 would be a brilliant team and would cover most situations. Gaz Quote Link to post

It it doesnt have one and cant focus it, I would return it as faulty Edited November 4, 2012 by lapin2008 Quote Link to post
paulus 26
try moving the bulb backward or forward, see if it makes the black spot dissapear sounds like a focus problem Quote Link to post
stevemac 448
If you want to persist with this lamp then you will have to change the distance the element is from the lense the black spot will be caused by the shape of the reflector. varring the hight of the element can change the the shape and sharpness of the light thrown . myself though Id go with a gree torch I have one of there head lamps and very happy. fuckers 20
had one that did that move the bulb in or out worked for me mate. good little lamps Quote Link to post
redtailhawk1 84
Mine did it when the vent on the back was closed and bulb over heated. Check the vent and change the bulb. I also use a black plant pot with the bottom cut of to make a cone and tape it on the front. Looks tidy enough and tightens the beam. Quote Link to post
