I HAVE BEEN LAMPING FOR MANY YEARS NOW AND HAVE USED LIGHTFORCE LAMPS FOR AS LONG AS I CAN REMEMBER, I AM CURRENTLY USING THE 240MM BLITZ AND IT IS A VERY GOOD LAMP BUT WHEN THE WIND PICKS UP REALLY STRONG IT SEEMS TO CATCH THE LAMP AND SEND IT ALL OVER THE PLACE DUE TO ITS LARGE DIAMETER AND LETS FACE IT WE LOOK FORWARD TO WINDY NIGHTS, ANYWAY I THOUGHT I WOULD BUY A SECOND SMALLER LAMP TO USE ON GALE FORCE NIGHTS AND JUST FOR AN HOUR LOCAL, I DIDN'T WANT TO SPEND TOO MUCH SO THE STRIKER WAS OUT OF THE MIX, I ENDED UP GETTING A CLUSION CLULITE AS I WAS TOLD THEY WERE PRETTY GOOD, IT ARRIVED ON FRIDAY SO OFF I WENT FRIDAY NIGHT TO TRY IT AND WHAT A DISAPPOINTMENT, IT WAS DULL/YELLOWISH/ AND HAD A BIG BLACK SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BEAM, PISSED OFF I RETURNED HOME HAD A LOOK AT IT AND NOTICED THE MAIN BULB WAS A 12V 50W SO I CHANGED THAT FOR A 12V 100W AND WENT OUT AGAIN LAST NIGHT, THE BEAM WAS MUCH BRIGHTER BUT THERE IS STILL A LARGE BLACK SPOT IN THE MIDDLE OF THE BEAM,THE BULB HAS A HORIZONTAL ELEMENT IN IT SO I AM GOING TO TRY A VERTICAL ONE TO SEE IF THAT CURES IT, CAN ANYONE SUGGEST ANYTHING ELSE I CAN DO TO GET RID OF THE BLACK SPOT, SENSIBLE REPLIES ONLY PLEASE, NO KEYBOARD FREAKS WITH NOTHING BETTER TO DO.

If you want to persist with this lamp then you will have to change the distance the element is from the lense the black spot will be caused by the shape of the reflector. varring the hight of the element can change the the shape and sharpness of the light thrown . myself though Id go with a gree torch I have one of there head lamps and very happy.
