mikeball 108
Depends on the extent of her injury, the skill of the vet performing the surgery and your time and pactience during her rehibilitation. Once stitches are removed get her walking asap on the lead only building her up to good daily walks . Last thing she needs is to be imobile, the tissue needs gentle exercise to streatch, strengthen and toughen it back up. If you live near the sea walk her through the salt sea water. If you have the funds invest in a Porta mag. Try source some Feng Gui Shui and rub that into the damaged area every day. If you use the same cloth the bottle will last longer as after a few days you wont be using as much. Goodluck. hi I was thinking the same thing but with swimming everyday instead of walking so there's no weight on her foot? Dont know if this whoud help any tho? What's porta mag? I've never heard of it lol thanks Quote Link to post

mikeball 108
Id say she wants gentle walks 3-4 times per day gradually building her up till she is at least getting a Good walk at least once per day. Iv just had a Flexa tendon removed from a Greyhound. Iv been walking him a few times daily from day one post op. He will be two weeks post op this Friday when the stitches will be removed and im giving him a mile twice per day. Once stitches are out i will step it up a little for a week then give him a gallop. A week later i will gallop him again a couple of times. Following week he is back to the track for a handslip. mines still in bandages for anoffer two weeks. Its a hard call really cause over exersizing could open the tendon back up again. I'll see how she is when her bandages are off and stitches out. Just don't want f**k her up more by trying over do it like. Cheers Quote Link to post

mikeball 108
Well had some very bad news about my birch today. She's been the vets to have her stitches out and to have a xray to see how her foot was healing. Turns out her foot is now twisted and will never run again vet said more than a 5 min walk a day for the rest off her life. Any sudden burst of pressure on her foot will pop the tendon back open and if a human had done the same to the evierlant tendon they would never walk again. I'm abuserlutely gutted. moonlighter 1,165
It's a hard game mate. I just had my dog operated on yesterday. He will be out all season but hopefully will be ok for next season. But to miss a whole season on a 2 year old dog is massive. I can see why some people have them pts. It's even harder if its your only dog as well. Quote Link to post
BrianSteven72 369
sorry to hear that but good to see you are going to give her every chance of running again Quote Link to post
