De_Tomaso 0
In this price range I would rather suggest scopes from European manufacturers like Docter, Kaps or Kahles. The VX-R scopes do have really good illumination but they also have quite narrow field of view and are just not as good as European scopes in low light situations. Quote Link to post
hitman hilts 4
thanks for the advice opted for the leupold vx-3 4.5-14x50 in the end Quote Link to post
Mickey Finn 3,087
Hi Hitman. I just replaced a Weaver 1 1/2X5-32mm. With the scope you're looking at. I chose the Fire Dot Duplex recticle, and am very happy with the choice. Target acquisition, and sight alignment, are almost instantaneous. This really helps in low light conditions, and on darker game animals. In my mind, the glass is just a little shy of the VX-3 scopes. Which I think are very nice. I'll be buying a higher magnification version for another rifle this summer. ATB Now I read your last post. Good choice! Edited November 24, 2012 by Mickey Finn Quote Link to post
Deker 3,491
thanks for the advice opted for the leupold vx-3 4.5-14x50 in the end Nothing wrong with these, I had one of the VX3 4.5-14x40 Long Range 2 or 3 years back, moved it on very quickly, it was not the world changing experience I was hoping for, hopefully the 50mm will be better. Just the same I consider them well overpriced! Edited November 24, 2012 by Deker Quote Link to post
