Public footpaths

Hi all just a quick question on one of my permissions i have there are public footpath signs through the fields where do I stand legally if I have an air rifle whilst out shooting and some one walking these paths see me thanks all atb Big Tom

If you have permission to be there you are ok. Just exercise common sense in which direction you shoot, i.e. not over it if people are walking along it.

 

A public footpath is nothing more than private land, with an age old right of access.

as long as you have permision to be on the land your fine, but it will save possible hastle if your sensible when people are using them

Hi Tom the law states that you can shoot over a public right of way only if you have permission to shoot both sides, and in doing so you do not put anyone in danger, so if someones on the path you must Waite and let them pass unless they are far enough away that you don't cause them any arm: Dave
