Dip it !!!!!!

Recommended Posts

Right lads I thought I'd let you know what's been going on in June my wife as a 10yr wedding anniversary present paided for my gun to be hydrographiced . so I did a Internet search and found this blokes web site and he was offering a full gun dip for £180 , so me being me phoned the guy up and we chatted about what I wanted .

Anthony the owner said he could dip gun, stock, optics, silencer ,bipod for £180 I had mentioned that I had to get new seals sorted for the gun as it had a air leak, at which point Anthony offers to do a full seal replacement for a extra £20 bringing up to £200 so we settled on a deal . I went home and packaged up my gun using plenty of bubble wrap to protect my pride and joy and sent it off . 4 days later it was returned to me by courier .I opened the box to find the gun badly packaged the finish was gloss when I asked for matt finish . I put the gun back together and run a couple shots throughout it the scope lens seemed cloudy when I looked closer there was a film over the lens turned out it was a clear gloss paint , which I cleaned off . A couple of days later I took the gun down my local range to get it all rezerod how it was . But I noticed the pellets were tumbling so I spoke to some people and on here to see what the problem may be , anyways I tried to phone dip it but no one would answer ! I then noticed the graphic all pealing off in large bits .so I tried to phone Anthony i tried every day for 2 weeks left emails answer phone messages and even wrote to him but no reply . So I took my gun to my local gunsmiths and they found the gun was firing at 6lb not 12lb and when they stripped it some of the o'rings had'nt even been changed and 2 were missing which was causing the problems I was having with the gun . I have now had my gun properly fixed but the graphics is still falling off with no help from me . And Anthony still won't answer his phone . So my advice is stay away this guy is a cowboy who took £200 off me and messed my pride and joy AA s410 which will never look the same .

Thats a bit of bad look you've had their, but these sort of guys are all over the place offering their services and are right W-----s really knocks my confidence about getting anything done when i hear these sort of stories. But when there's a chance of making some quick cash theirs always one there to take advantage of someone sadly: Dave

Shit man that's bad the only thing that i would recommend is contact your local trading standards within your local council now the acts that are relevant to this is the trade descriptions act and the sale of goods act, due to the fact that the goods sold are not fit for the purpose in which it was intended, unfortunately the down side is this may take a while, but its free your other option is to consult a solicitor and recover via the small claims court good luck pal and i wish you all the best
