Hi All

I am a new member. I live in Argyll and am currently training my black lab, Corbie who is 14 months for beating and more importantly wildfowling. So any tips on training labs much appreciated. This is my first gundog so finding way with books and dvd,s. She's from working stock in Aberdeenshire so she has the talent and natural ability its just trying to challenge it !!

I had lurchers as a kid and did plenty of rabbiting and the odd course, pre ban. I now work in the woods and with so many deer the lurcher ain't practical although still fancy a whippet for rabbiting around the house.

I love fly fishing for wild brownies in the summer and I am trying the shore with the fly rod for sea trout just for the craic but with no luck.

My wife is from the lake district and have followed the Blencathra once and the Melbreak with my son when down visiting inlaws. It was a bit awkward though the last time , as we kind of got the cold shoulder which was understandable as we were strangers and I know the hunts have to be carefull but it was still disapointing as no one made the effort to talk, and even my we laddie aged 7 picked up on it.

So if any lads on here follow the Melbreak get in touch as I would like to take him back and show him that a day with the hounds is brilliant and can be really friendly.

Wish everybody all the best for the coming season

Cheers

Stuart
