Iv said what I wanted to say BB, and Im sure you can find one or 2 that are workers that won but if you chek the show winners for this year in general its all the same people, its a pals act fixxed... as to seen some dog work ,I have no interest I have my own to enjoy, u can defend the fixxed shows al u want, but just chek first , the majoritys of wins this year are the same people with same people running the shows and same bunch of pal judges

showing is a beauty contest for dogs and in my opinion only the best dog on conformation, condition etc. will win and if the same dogs keep winning this is reflecting the fact that different judges are picking the best dogs so therefore deserve to win and get placed. no one will never know if the dogs are workers or not, but it is mt gut feeling , if you keep hunting dogs you will hunt them. otherwise you would more likely be a member of the kc club and keep a different type of dog and for different reasons. just my opinion.

jimjim your right it is a beauty contest, I agree with a lot you say, well its a certin amount of dogs are so much better in conformation and condition than everyone elses ,as its the same ones all the time usualy judged by same small handfull of judges or else Im right that they all are pals with each other judges and owners and the rosetts go home to the same bunch, and some are involved with kc dogs, and do both types of shows

muddy mate you are goin round in a circle there, you want working judges at a show in which it doesnt matter if the dogs work as its a confirmation test and not a working one anyway, the circle of dogs at the shows isnt that big and the most of them go to all the shows so if they have a real nice dog they will win a few and make few friends thats about it.if your not winning, either get a nicer looking dog or work the dog like you say and have a bit of craic at the show with the others who work their dogs.its really that simple.or stick your name up to judge next year at a show and find out what its like in the middle of the ring its that simple really.have a good season.

I have a bitch that has done well at showing and through the shows i have met and became friends with some good people, which IMHO ,that is what they are about and i have have also judged a couple of shows and not once have i picked the person holding the lead,Certain people with their dogs have done well maybe because they know how pick the right pup and they know how to look after a dog and keep it in good nick, that is why they get flagged to judge a show,I have never asked to judge a show i have being asked, and when you judge a show you can never tell if the dog is worked or not,all you can do is ask and take their word for it,

i show and work my dogs and i know of a few other lads that have judged who work and show their dogs and i have seen judges that just work dogs and be a hopeless judge.so just because you work dogs does not make you a good judge ye have to know how a show works

A Tribute to the late John Shaw who passed away  last Thursday 6th November 25

      I Am Free
Do not grieve for me now my  friends and family, I am free
I am following the path God Laid for me
I took his hand when I heard him call
I turned my back and left it all
I could not stay another day
To Love, to live, to hunt, to show my treasured Whippets, or play.
I found a peace at close of day.
Be not burdened with the times of sorrow
I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow
Perhaps my time seemed all to brief
Do not lengthen it now with undue grief
Lift up your hearts my friends and share with me
      God wanted me now,
      He set me free.
John, we will love you forever and you will be sadly missed by your loving family and all your Country Sporting Fraternity and in the show ring.
May the Angels above give you the best seat in Heaven and may your gentle soul rest in peace.
      For Country Sports Fraternity
      Margaret Mc Stay
