EnglishBulldog 14
What is the best caliber for fox and all 6 species of deer in the UK? Quote Link to post
coldweld 65
243 mate I think you will find that is the most common minimum ! And the one people new to stalking mainly use, until they learn it's good and bad points . I use .308 and 6.5 x 08 for fox muntjack and fallow in 150 gr (.308) and 129 gr (6.5) i have tried 100gr bullets which are the top end for .243 win but found they don't exit on a large fallow especilally if the hit a bone. No good at all on a large sika at last light . The question you asked is a can of worms . But i would pic from one of the below in no order imo all a more practical choice than a .243 win ! 6.5 x 55 .308 25.06 30.06 .270 7x08 Edited August 29, 2012 by coldweld Quote Link to post
