Bells on hawks

What are your thoughts on were u mount your bells on ya birds ? Tail mount or anklet ?

1 on the tail for when they are on a branchas they give their tail a little shake every now and then and 1 on the leg for when they are on a kill as there is usually a fair pulling with the legs and they can sometimes sit back on their tail rendering the tail bell useless.

Thanks i got 1 on anklet just wondering if anyone had many feathers pulled out the tails

I use a tail guard so it has to be tail mounted..the bird has caught his tail mounted telemetry before today when going through a fence but it never pulled the deck feather's out..but he has pulled his own out 2yr's back when i freelofted him for a week with his tail mount on.

If you are using a bell on the leg you should try using a leather bewit to mount it above the anklet this way there is less chance of the bell rubbing the birds foot.
